Qatar Airways has opened a new premium lounge at London Heathrow’s Terminal 4, the airline’s first dedicated facility for business and first class passengers beyond its Doha hub.
The new facility has been designed to be more like a private member’s club than an airport lounge, and features the Global Brasserie kitchen, the Delicatessen and a Martini bar. There’s also private shower rooms, wifi access and a business centre.
The carrier is also adding capacity on its popular London-Doha operation, upping the service from four to five flights a day from March 25th.
Qatar Airways country manager UK & Ireland, Richard Oliver, says, “The new lounge could not have come at a better time, with the soon to be launched fifth daily flight from Heathrow and the introduction of several exciting new business and leisure destinations in recent months, including Chongqing, Kolkata, as well as the upcoming destinations of Perth, Kigali and Zanzibar.”
Qatar added 15 new destinations to its network in 2011, with nine others to be added this year.
