The Hotel: A five-star, 360 room property situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, conveniently located for the The Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the International World Trade Centre and Dubai’s busy business district. The hotel is set to have a refurbishment of all guest rooms in the coming months.
Check-In: Rotana Hotels has a dedicated meet and greet lounge at Dubai International Airport. I was met off my plane and shown to the Rotana lounge where a cold drink and towel were offered. An air-conditioned car then took me to the hotel where I was escorted to the Executive Club check-in on the 23rd floor.
The Room: My room was bright and spacious and offered satellite TV, internet access (chargeable), tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar, hair dryer and work station. The bathroom was well equipped with a variety of toiletries available.
The Business: The hotel has numerous meetings rooms which are suitable for either boardroom meetings, receptions, dining or theatre-style presentations. There is a fully equipped business centre offering high-speed internet connection and smaller meeting room facilities.
The Facilities: The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, state-of-the-art health and fitness centre, barber shop and beauty salon. Two restaurants offered international menus and Longs Bar was the perfect place to unwind with a drink after a business day. As a Club Rotana guest you get access to the Club Rotana Lounge where a complimentary breakfast buffet, afternoon canapés, evening snacks and drinks are all available.
The Verdict: A very comfortable business hotel which is about to undergo a thorough refurbishment with new rooms and suites. The staff were very attentive and made the stay all the more pleasant with their friendly and helpful attitude towards guests.
